This session is only for campers going INTO 9th, 10th, 11th & 12th grade in the Fall of 2021. Check-in is on Sunday, June 27th between 2-4pm. Check-out is on Friday, July 2nd between 1-2pm.
This is the second step of the Outdoor Leadership Program (previously CIT) at Camp E-Ko-Wah. Campers are required to participate in a Outdoor Leadership Intro session BEFORE this session. This is a 6-day/5-night traditional weeklong camp for girls who have a strong desire to work with children. THis session will review leadership basics and introduce leadership styles, and learn about different types of leaders. This session will provide the chance to plan and help facilitate skill-building activities for younger campers. Campers will learn and practice skills such as fire building, cookouts, song leading, game facilitating, etc. This session will touch on some of the requirements for earning the CIT I pin, but will NOT complete all the requirements. As a leadership camp, the focus is not on participating in traditional camp activities like swimming, archery, hiking, but rather on developing leadership qualities and skills. Campers will have some opportunities for these activities, but most of the schedule will structure around leadership discussions, skill practice sessions, work with campers, and building personal and group leadership skills. If you need to check your camper out early for the holiday weekend, please email info@gswestok.org to provide information regarding when you will be picking up your camper. Prorated days/refunds for days missed due to early checkout are not permitted. Horse experiences are not part of this camp unless purchased on a promotion from GSWESTOK. This camp will not run if less than 4 campers register. If this camp gets cancelled, it will not be replaced.
