This session is only for campers going INTO 9th, 10th or 11th grade in the Fall of 2020
Check-in is on Sunday, June 28th between 2-4pm at Camp E-Ko-Wah.
Check-out is on Friday, July 3rd between 1-2pm.
This is the first step of the Outdoor Leadership (previously CIT) program at Camp E-Ko-Wah. We recommend that campers take the Camp Program Aide (grades 6-8) prior to this session, though it is not required.
This session is an 6-day/5-night camp for campers who have a strong desire to work with children. This session will introduce leadership styles, and will focus heavily on learning about different types of leaders. This session will provide the chance to plan and help facilitate skill building activities for younger campers. Campers will learn and practice skills such as fire building, cookouts, song leading, game facilitating, etc. This session will touch on some of the requirements for earning the CIT I pin.
As a leadership camp, the focus is not on participating in traditional camp activities like swimming, archery, hiking, but rather on developing leadership qualities. Campers will have some opportunities for these activities, but most of the schedule will structure around leadership discussions, skill practice sessions, working with campers and on occasion with other staff to build on each campers’ personal and group leadership growth.
If you need to check out your camper early for the holiday weekend, please e-mail info@gswestok.org to provide information regarding
when you will be picking up your camper.
Horse experiences are not a part of this camp.
This camp will not run if less than 4 campers register.
If this camp gets cancelled, it will not be replaced with another session.
