This session is only for campers going INTO 10th, 11th or 12th grade in the Fall of 2020
This is an 8-Day Session!
Check-in is on Sunday, June 21st between 2-4pm at Camp E-Ko-Wah.
Check-out is on Sunday, June 28th between 8-10am.
This is the second step of the Outdoor Leadership program at Camp E-Ko-Wah. Campers are required to have taken Outdoor Leadership Styles (previously CIT I) before taking this session.
This session is an 8-day/7-night camp for campers who have a strong desire to work with children after going through the Outdoor Leadership Styles session. This session will review leadership styles, and will focus heavily on skill-building. This session will provide the chance to plan and help facilitate skill building activities for younger campers. Campers will practice and improve skills such as fire building, cookouts, horse skills, song leading, game facilitating, night-time routines, etc. Campers will shadow a staffer, and they will lead various activities for the weekend camp that is at the end of this session.
As a leadership camp, the focus is not on participating in traditional camp activities like swimming, archery, hiking, but rather on developing leadership qualities. Campers will have some opportunities for these activities but most of the schedule will structure around leadership discussions, skill practice sessions, working with campers and on occasion with other staff to build on each campers’ personal and group leadership growth.
Throughout this session, campers will work towards becoming proficient in many skills. By the end of this session, an assessment of those skills will help determine if campers would benefit from attending this session again, or taking the next step in the OL program.
This camp will not run if less than 4 campers register.
If this camp gets cancelled, it will not be replaced with another session.
