This session is only for campers going INTO 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade in the Fall of 2021.
This is a short week! Check-in is on Monday, June 21st between 6-8pm. Check-out is on Friday, June 25th between 1-2pm.
This is the first step of the Outdoor Leadership Program (previously CIT) at Camp E-Ko-Wah. There are no prerequisites for this session.
This session is a 4.5-day/4-night camp for campers who have a strong desire to work with children. This session will create a foundation for the Outdoor Leadership Program focusing on fundamentals of being a leader. This session will provide the chance to plan and help facilitate an all camp activity for younger campers. Campers will learn and practice skills such as fire building, cookouts, song leading, game facilitating, etc. This session will touch on some of the requirements for earning the Girl Scout CIT 1 pin. *Girls will not earn the full pin, and girls in the 8th grade will not be able to have the steps count toward their CIT I pin, as that program is for Seniors Girl Scouts.
As a leadership camp, the focus is not on participating in traditional camp activities like swimming, archery, hiking, but rather on developing leadership qualities and skills. Campers will have some opportunities for these activities, but most of the schedule will structure around leadership discussions, skill practice sessions, working with campers and on occasion with staff to build on each campers’ personal and group leadership growth.
Horse experiences are not part of this camp unless purchased on a promotion from GSWESTOK. This camp will not run if less than 4 campers register. If this camp gets cancelled, it will not be replaced.
