
Join us for Certification Weekend at Camp Trivera! This adult and girl training weekend allows you to participate in a learning workshop focused on specific skills to support the Girl Scout experience!
This summer's Certification Weekend will be offering 4 individual workshops perfect for building skills to support your Service Unit and Troop. Due to the length of the workshop, participants can choose 1 workshop for the weekend. To become certified, you must attend the entire workshop. Please note each workshop's hours when registering.
An overnight option is available for participants who wish to stay overnight at Camp Trivera. Lodging will be assigned upon a first come, first serve basis. Please note that girls participating in overnight stays must ensure that Girl to Adult ratios are met. Your registration will include the following options:

Available Certification Workshops:
- Safe Sitter Babysitter Training with American Red Cross CPR Certification
Workshop Hours: Saturday 9am-5:30 pm
Cost: $60 (includes certification fees, Safe Sitter Manual, Lunch and Snacks)
For: Girl members, ages 12-18
The Safe Sitter class teaches life, safety, and business skills as well as pertinent childcare training. Participants will emerge more confident, responsible, and compassionate.
*Girls will complete both the Safe Sitter Babysitting Training and the Amercian Red Cross CPR course.

Workshop Hours: Saturday 1-5:30 pm
Cost: $40 (includes certification fees)
For: Girl members, ages 12-18, and Volunteers
This 4.5-hour course fulfills the GSUSA requirement for CPR/FA/AED training with hands-on learning.
Workshop Hours: 7 hours of online pre-work, Friday 4-9pm, Saturday 8am-8pm, Sunday 9am-2pm
Cost: $125 (includes certification fees, food and lodging for entire weekend)
For: Girl members, ages 16-18, and Volunteers
Participants will gain the knowledge and skills needed to be a lifeguard. The course covers safety skills, handling severe weather, water dangers and more.
Participants must be able to complete the prerequisites below before signing up for the lifeguard workshop and attendance is required for the whole weekend - participants cannot miss a day or portions of a day(s)..
1. Be at least 15 years old on or before the final scheduled session of the course.
2. Swim 300 yards, continuously demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing. Candidates may swim using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both, but swimming on the back or side is not allowed. Swim goggles may be used.
3. Tread water for 2 minutes, using only the legs. Candidates should place their hands under the armpits.
4. Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds:
a. Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. Swim goggles are not allowed.
b. Surface dive, feet-first or headfirst, to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object.
c. Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point with both hands holding the object and keeping the face at or near the surface so they are able to get a breath.
d. Exit the water without using a ladder or steps.
- Youth Mental Health First Aid
Workshop Hours: Saturday 9am-5pm
Cost: $10 (includes class fees and lunch. Thanks to the support from generous donors, we can offer this course at a deep discount)

Mental Health First Aid is a skills-based training course that teaches participants to identify, understand and respond to mental health and substance use challenges. The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, substance use, disorders in which psychosis may occur, disruptive behavior disorders (including AD/HD), and eating disorders.
